Langdeau Family

This website is a genealogy database of documents, photos, and information about the Langdeau family. The family descends from Maurice Langdeau (1819-1878) and Margaret Hart (1832-1928). Maurice was a French Canadian who came to the United States in the 1840s where he married Margaret in Wyoming in 1848. Margaret was a Yankton or Sicangu Lakota. The family lived on the Nemaha Half-Breed Reservation of Nebraska until the 1870s, when they moved to the Yankton Indian Reservation of Dakota Territory. In the 1880s, Margaret and her daughters moved to the Rosebud Indian Reservation and her two sons moved to the Lower Brule Indian Reservation, where many of their descendants still live.
